How I quote, bill and hand over

1. Quotes and scope

   Every job is quoted as a fixed number, in writing, before work starts. A website build covers five to eight pages. Anything outside the quoted scope — extra pages, a second design direction, work on systems the quote does not name — is quoted separately before it begins. Nothing reaches your invoice that you have not agreed to first.

2. Revisions

   Design includes two rounds of revisions. Further rounds are quoted at a fixed price. Copy corrections during the build are not counted as rounds.

3. What I need from you

   Text, images, logins and answers. If I am waiting on you for more than fourteen days the project pauses, and I schedule it back in when you are ready. Long pauses move the launch date.

4. Payment

   The build is payable once the site is live and it matches what was quoted. Satisfied means the quoted scope was delivered — it is not an open-ended approval. If I hear nothing for thirty days after launch, the invoice falls due. The monthly plan is billed monthly in advance and invoices are due on receipt.

5. The monthly plan

   Month to month, no minimum term. Cancel any time with thirty days’ notice and you are billed for that final month only. If you cancel, or stop paying, the site is still yours: I hand over the files and help you move hosting. Nothing is taken offline and nothing is held back.

6. Ownership

   Your domain, hosting, analytics and any third-party accounts are registered in your name from the first day. You own the finished site, its content and its code outright. I keep the right to reuse the generic building blocks I wrote, and to show the finished work in my portfolio — say the word and I will not show yours.

7. Costs I do not cover

   Domain registration, paid hosting beyond what is included, stock photography and any paid software your project needs are bought in your own accounts and paid by you. I tell you the cost before anything is bought.

8. What I do not promise

   I do not guarantee search rankings, or any particular traffic, revenue or lead numbers. Nobody outside Google controls the ranking, and anyone promising otherwise is selling a report rather than a result.

9. If something goes wrong

   Tell me and I will fix it. My total liability for any claim is capped at what you have paid me for the work in question. I am not liable for lost profit or indirect losses.
